Position Summary

As an Apprentice, you’ll play a vital part in manufacturing operations. The apprentice will shadow fellow machinists to be introduced to milling, lathe, grinding, polishing, tooling and inspection. The Diamond America Apprenticeship Program is a State certified program through Stark State College. Diamond America covers 100% of the tuition costs.

Responsibilities:

• Practice basic machining operations. Learn to adjust machine settings and parameters to achieve desired results.
• Learn to select and use appropriate tools and measuring instruments.
• Learn to inspect machined parts for accuracy and conformance to specifications using measuring tools.
• Learn to read and interpret blueprints. Understand dimensions, tolerances and other specifications.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the machine shop.
• Learn basic machine maintenance procedures.
• Adhere to all safety rules and procedures.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to follow detailed instructions.
• Ability to communicate wit production teams and managers
• Proficient at Math with analytical abilities
• High attention to details
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects
• Punctual consistent attendance
