POSITION OVERVIEW

The ERP Applications Senior Manager will play a key role in supporting and driving the company’s enterprise systems strategy, ensuring successful project execution, process optimization, and ERP system enhancements. This role requires a strong background in project management (PMP certification required), SAP S4/HANA expertise, and cross-functional collaboration with business and IT teams to streamline core business processes.

This position will report to the VP, Global ERP Strategy and Applications, reporting into the Ranpak CTO.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Management & Execution of ERP projects:

  • Lead the execution of ERP projects for Ranpak’s SAP and other auxiliary systems such as ServiceNow, Sugar CRM, HFM, UKG and Blackline, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and quality assurance.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed project plans, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies.
  • Manage change requests, stakeholder communication, and project reporting.
  • Ensure alignment with best practices in Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

Business Analysis & Process Optimization:

  • Work closely with Customer Service, Planning, Manufacturing, Logistics, Quality, Engineering, and Finance teams to understand business needs and align ERP capabilities accordingly.
  • Conduct business process analysis and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce manual interventions, and optimize data flow.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications, user stories, and process flows.
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to standardize, unify, and simplify ERP-driven business processes globally.

ERP System Management & Support:

  • Work with third-party integrators, SAP AMS providers, and internal teams to manage system updates, enhancements, and troubleshooting.
  • Lead testing efforts (unit, system, integration, and user acceptance testing) for ERP changes and enhancements.
  • Establish and maintain quality assurance processes, ensuring compliance with SOX and GDPR regulations.

Training & Change Management:

  • Identify training needs and develop documentation and training programs for end-users.
  • Facilitate workshops and hands-on training sessions to promote user adoption of ERP functionalities.
  • Develop change management strategies to ensure smooth transition and buy-in from key stakeholders.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:

  • Serve as a bridge between IT, business leaders, and ERP vendors to align ERP capabilities with business goals.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with senior management and end-users on system updates, changes, and enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain ERP governance standards, ensuring best-in-class project execution and system reliability.

ITGC Compliance and Risk Mitigation:

  • Lead and oversee ERP Application governance, ensuring all system configurations, change management, and access controls strictly adhere to SOX ITGC requirements and internal audit standards.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with ERP operations by implementing robust controls, monitoring compliance, and proactively addressing potential IT risks impacting financial reporting.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal audit, finance and IT teams to drive continuous improvement in control design, remediation efforts, and system compliance, ensuring audit readiness and minimizing control deficiencies.

YEAR ONE CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS

  • Gain a deep understanding of company-wide processes supported by SAP S4/HANA and identify improvement areas.
  • Successfully manage ERP-related projects, ensuring alignment with company goals and industry best practices.
  • Establish strong relationships with key business and IT stakeholders to foster collaboration and process standardization.
  • Improve service delivery KPIs related to ERP system support, user experience, and process efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX, GDPR, and other regulatory requirements by developing proper controls and documentation.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Management, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in SAP S4/HANA implementation and project management.
  • At least 3 years of project management experience, leading IT/ERP initiatives from initiation to completion.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP modules related to Lead-to-OrdOrder-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Record-to-Report, and Digital Supply Chain.
  • Strong understanding of business processes across Finance, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Quality Management.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing external vendors.
  • PMP Certification (Mandatory)
  • SAP certification or equivalent experience in SAP S4/HANA is a plus.
  • Strong business process documentation skills using tools such as Microsoft Visio or similar.
  • Ability to analyze, improve, and implement ERP-driven business processes.
  • Knowledge of SOX, GDPR, and IT compliance frameworks.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
