Inventory Control Specialist 2 Position Overview

Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist 2 to join our Finance team. This role plays an important part in supporting OOD’s mission to empower Ohioans with disabilities by ensuring that our statewide inventory system runs smoothly and efficiently.

As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will coordinate and manage OOD’s asset inventory across all locations. This includes assigning asset numbers, tagging incoming equipment, and verifying inventory accuracy through physical counts and documentation reviews. You will enter and maintain data in the asset management system, ensuring compliance with agency standards and timelines. Your work will help keep our operations running effectively and support the services we provide to individuals with disabilities.

In this position, you will also prepare reports and maintain records for state, federal, and internal audits. You’ll monitor compliance with regulations, assist during audits, and recommend improvements to inventory procedures. Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills are important as you resolve inventory issues and suggest corrective actions when needed.

Additional responsibilities include providing administrative support, scheduling meetings, drafting correspondence, and maintaining spreadsheets for specialized equipment and office keys. You will collaborate with staff across divisions and occasionally assist with fleet management tasks. The role also involves coordinating the movement and disposal of surplus property, following safety practices, and operating equipment such as handcarts and pallet jacks. Travel is required, and a valid driver’s license is necessary.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of inventory control practices and safety procedures, along with skills in Microsoft Office and other computer applications. Strong attention to detail, organizational ability, and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role.

Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities is not an E-Verify employer and will not sponsor applicants for work visas.
