Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working in school-based special education settings preferred
- Deep understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Strong collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
- Excellent communication abilities for both written documentation and parent interactions
- Adaptability and creativity to tailor instruction to diverse learning styles and needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with varying exceptionalities
- Provide direct instruction according to each student’s needs in both individual and group settings
- Collaborate regularly with general education teachers and other specialists to ensure inclusive and integrated learning experiences
- Use data-driven strategies to monitor, document, and report on student progress
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture that encourages student participation, independence, and self-advocacy
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student achievements, challenges, and support strategies
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education
