Senior associate attorney
Roberts, Matejczyk & Ita Co., LPA (“RMI”), an established AV-rated firm headquartered in Ohio, seeks an Indiana Senior Associate Attorney to join our reputable practice. Experience (5+ years minimum) is required, with preference given to those with a strong litigation background. This position does not require billable hours, but instead focuses on recoveries for our clients and exceptional work, while maintaining a good work/life balance. Knowledge of various insurance coverages (auto, property, surety, commercial auto, commercial property, etc.) preferred. Property files may require: on-site scene visits (fires, water losses, explosions, etc.); the coordination of scene exams, experts, and involved parties; the ability to quickly discern the need for experts and retention of same; lab exams; and developing theories of liability. The qualifications for the position include:
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the State of Indiana (an Ohio license or ability to waive into Ohio and Kentucky also highly preferred)
- Identifying potential theories of liability
- Drafting related correspondence and/or litigation documents/pleadings/motions
- Handling court conferences, depositions, and trials
- Providing client reporting and recovery analysis
- Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and courts
- Understanding insurance coverages very helpful
- Understanding recoverable damages and current law

Work Location: If located in Indiana, after initial training and onboarding, remote work with some mandatory collaboration dates at Medina County (Ohio) office as needed, but generally quarterly. Initial training and onboarding will require two to four weeks in office time. If located in Ohio, in person, but would consider remote work for right candidate who is already licensed in Ohio and Indiana and has significant litigation experience.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
