We are actively seeking an experienced Corporate Purchasing Manager to join and grow in the PPG organization. The Corporate Purchasing Manager will be responsible for overseeing the purchasing department, establishing goals based on corporate inventory needs and sales projections for the coming year. This role is critical in supporting CNC and EDM manufacturing operations, ensuring timely procurement of materials, tools, and outside services while maintaining cost and quality standards.

Requirements
- Develop profitable purchasing strategies aligned with CNC/EDM manufacturing needs.
- Assess supplier profiles and analyze offers to determine best value.
- Prepare and implement effective negotiation tactics for pricing, quality, and lead time.
- Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality, ensure timely delivery, and compliance with contracts.
- Source new suppliers/services to ensure redundancy and improve quality or cost.
- Oversee purchasing of materials specific to CNC/EDM processes (e.g., metals, electrodes, tooling, coatings).
- Track and maintain supplier files for accounting and quality compliance.
- Ensure supplier certifications are up to date by reviewing questionnaires and certifications.
- Create and maintain SOPs for requisition generation, purchase order creation, and use of purchasing systems.
- Monitor inventory levels in coordination with production planning and inventory control.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports (e.g., revenues, expenditures, cost savings).
- Process purchase requisitions across all business units and locations.
- Provide data to quality to maintain an approved and preferred supplier list.
- Report to senior management on purchasing status, supplier performance, and KPIs.
- Oversee procurement of outside services (e.g., heat treating, coating, grinding) to support operations.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Proven experience as a purchasing agent or in a relevant procurement role in manufacturing.
- Experience with purchasing for CNC and EDM machining, including precision components and tooling.
- Demonstrable experience negotiating prices, terms, and lead times.
- Knowledge of market research, supplier sourcing, and procurement best practices.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., JobBOSS, Epicor, SAP) and MS Office.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships at all levels.
- Team-oriented mindset with ability to collaborate across departments.
- Analytical thinker with strong organizational skills.
- Proven ability to manage multi-site purchasing and establish long-term supplier agreements (LTAs).

- Compensation for this role is based on industry experience
