Job Summary

Summa Health is urgently seeking experienced Gero-Psych Registered Nurses (RN) to support their Behavioral Health unit (BHP4 – 4th Floor) due to an increase in patient census. This role focuses on providing specialized psychiatric care to geriatric patients in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to geriatric psychiatric patients
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and behavioral health needs
• Administer medications and manage treatment plans
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float to other units as required
• Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in psychiatric or behavioral health nursing
• Recent Epic EMR experience (within 1 year) – must be listed on resume
• BLS Certification (required)
• CPI Blue Card (Crisis Prevention Institute) – required at submission (no exceptions)
• Accredited nursing degree (ACEN or CCNE)
• Strong communication and patient management skills

Important Notes

• RTO (Requested Time Off): Must be submitted upfront (max 7 days allowed)
• No RTO permitted during the first 2 weeks of assignment
• No block scheduling requests accepted
• ASAP start preferred
• This is a high-priority, urgent opening
