Maintenance Worker

The City of Wyoming is currently accepting applications for a full-time Maintenance Worker position within the Public Works Department . This role involves performing a wide range of skilled and unskilled labor tasks to support the maintenance and operations of city infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be a dependable team player who communicates effectively, follows instructions well, and contributes positively to a collaborative work environment. Minimum Requirements:

· High school diploma or G.E.D. is required.

· Must have the ability to read, write, and follow directions.

· Ability to work and communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and the public.

· Must have basic safety knowledge of hand and power tools and equipment used in general maintenance, construction, and repair work.

· Must have the ability and willingness to learn to safely operate all City vehicles, equipment, and tools.

· Willing and able to respond to call outs and emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Emergency call-ins and overtime work are not optional, it is required.

· Valid State driver’s license maintained throughout course of employment with the city.

· Possess or obtain a minimum of a Class A Commercial Driver’s license within one year of hire and retain it throughout the course of employment with the city.

· Prior experience with landscaping or construction and working with the public is preferred.

· An oral interview, drug and alcohol screen, and background investigation must be passed by successful candidate.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

· Hourly pay range $23.60 to $32.55 depending on years of experience, certification, skills, and qualifications. The city picks up the employees’ 10% required contribution to Ohio Public Employees’ Retirement Pension. Current benefits as defined in the 2024-2026 AFSCME contract and City Personnel Ordinance.
