Description :
Perry Local Schools seeks to hire an Ohio-licensed teacher to serve as a high school social studies teacher. The successful candidate will plan, teach, and report on social studies curriculum learning, and design community challenges through which students learn content and life skills in real-world situations with community partners. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering community engagement, student leadership, and real-world learning experiences connected to civic responsibility. The candidate will participate in the Design Thinking process for teaching through the District's Standards-based Learning opportunities and will also meet regularly with grade-level and PLC teachers to continually improve instruction, assessment, and meet student interests and learning needs. The candidate will demonstrate strong classroom management and the ability to collaborate with staff, students, and community partners. They will guide students in hands-on, service-based projects and use research-based instructional strategies aligned with the Ohio Learning Standards and Formative Instructional Practices.



Qualifications :
Valid Ohio licensure is required for working with high school students, which may include:

• Comprehensive Social Studies 7-12
• Adolescent to Young Adult Social Studies 7-12
• Integrated Social Studies 7-12, or a combination of multiple specific subject area disciplines.

The successful candidate will be an advocate for student-centered learning, use authentic problems to deeply learn content, implement formative assessment practices, possess strong content knowledge, and have experience teaching social studies. Evidence of successful completion of Praxis I or II examinations is required, if applicable.
