Title: Facilities Maintenance Assistant

Type: Temp to Hire

Pay : $18/ hr.

Schedule: 6:00am-2:30pm, Monday – Friday

Reports To: Facilities Maintenance Manager

Location: Wickliffe OH

Position Summary: This position is responsible for light industrial maintenance, industrial cleaning, painting and other miscellaneous duties as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Performs inspections and repairs to the facility interior lighting
• Performs painting tasks to include, but not limited to, doors, door frames, machinery, walls, guarding, and floor
• Perform cleaning tasks as assigned
• Operates, inspects, and maintains all floor maintenance machinery (floor sweeper and floor scrubber)
• Perform monthly fire extinguisher and safety lighting checks and record the results
• Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them
• Assist Maintenance Technicians as needed in a variety of tasks, to maintain building equipment
• Clearing and salting walkways in the winter
• Resolving plumbing issues
• Working on carts and performing PM’s on machines at times

• Demonstrate competency in basic shop math.

Physical Requirements:

• Sit, stand and walk for 1-10 hours a day
• Lift, carry, push and or pull 1-50 lbs. frequently
• Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, twist/turn, grasp and reach outward frequently
• Ability to work in a 65-90 degree Fahrenheit work environment
• Work in a fast-paced industrial environment wearing hearing protection, vision, hand protection, steel-toed shoes and other appropriate protective clothing
• Ability to work independently on routine assignments
• Strong communication skills, particularly oral/interpersonal skills
