Youth Arts Administration Fellow

The Youth Arts Administration Fellow is a temporary (late Spring-Summer 2026) position with responsibilities necessary to ensure successful youth arts education programming. This is a paid, entry-level fellowship, providing specialized mentorship and professional development in arts administration with a focus on youth programming. Great people skills, organization, attention to detail, and management skills are required.

Engagement Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Office of Engagement and security staff to facilitate all summer programs at the Art Academy of Cincinnati with a focus on Teen Academy and Camp Art Academy
    1. Camp Art Academy for students 5-12 years old in June and July
    2. Teen Academy for students 13-18 years old in June and July
    3. Community Courses for students 16+ in July
    4. Future BFA Pre-College for high school students in July
  • Be trained and train other summer program staff on processes and procedures
  • Support preparation in the spring and summer for summer programs
  • Facilitate Camp Art Academy’s Before Care (8-9 AM) and After Care (3-4 PM), which includes engaging students in activities and ensuring their safety
  • Organize, take inventory of, and manage materials and spaces at the AAC
  • Manage equipment including assisting people in properly using AAC equipment
  • On the first sessions of programming, greet students and their guardians, as well as assist instructors in setting up
  • Assist in office administration work such as managing files, making copies, and communicating with students or student guardians
  • Periodically work in the classrooms and studios directly with students when/if aid is needed
  • Support program exhibitions in various ways, including Camp Art Academy’s Friday exhibitions
  • Once programs conclude, clean up, re-organize and take inventory of supplies, and digitize records
  • Assist Office of Engagement staff in other relevant projects and initiatives that arise in the spring and summer

Required Trainings:

  • Several paid meetings/trainings with the Associate Director of Engagement and other summer staff (March-May)
  • CPR/First-Aid/AED training in Spring 2026

Timeframe:

  • June & July 2026 (Staff has a 2-week unpaid break period from June 22 – July 3)
  • 31-32 hours/ week besides preparation week (35 hours) and week of Juneteenth (25 hours)
  • Weekdays
  • Paid trainings and meetings in Spring 2026

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $15.00/hour
  • Free parking during work shifts

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Degree in art, design, education, art administration, or a related field OR equivalent work experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Passion and skill for working with community of all backgrounds
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Organized and anticipatory
  • Ability to work alone and collaboratively as a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible and hard-working
