JOB SUMMARY

The Assembly Technician is responsible for building an array of quality hydraulic products from components. The Assembly Technician ensures quality standards are met by thoroughly following work instructions, maintaining cleanliness standards, testing for function, reliability, and safety, and packaging / labeling goods.

This role has no direct reports and reports to the Production Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Assembles products by:

● Setting up for jobs by gathering tools, fixtures, and components necessary to complete the production order

● Following instructions to complete the order from start to finish

● Ensuring quality standards are met, and defective product is prevented/contained

● Cross-training in various assembly areas

● Prepare finished product for shipment

● Following job-specific safety standards

Performing job duties to meet department expectations by:

● Producing products at scheduled production levels that meet quality standards and delivery schedules.

● Completing paperwork as required including test records, scrap reports, and torque logs

● Maintaining a clean and orderly work area to prevent safety hazards and meet 5S standards.

● Performing miscellaneous, simple preventative maintenance tasks

● Being a team player assisting in achieving plant and departmental goals.

● Understanding and following all Company policies and procedures

● Performing miscellaneous department duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

● High school diploma or GED is preferred.

● Prior work experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment is preferred.

● Experience using computers is a plus

● Mechanical aptitude strongly preferred

● Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment driven by ambitious revenue goals.

● Willingness to learn and grow in the position.

● Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy.

● Strong organization and time management skills.

● Ability to do basic mathematical calculations.

● Self-motivated individuals that work well in a team environment

● Must have basic computer skills with the ability to learn company authorized programs.

● Ability to read and understand blueprints, verbal and written work instructions.

● Must be self-motivated to consistently meet and achieve quality and productivity goals.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

● Must be able and willing to work all shifts and schedules as needed including overtime.

● Must meet attendance standards including maintaining regular and predictable attendance.

● Must have acceptable background check and driving record that always meets Company standards.

● Must present self positively and professionally both in demeanor and appearance.

● Strictly maintains confidentiality of financial and/or other information acquired in the course of work; discloses only when authorized, unless legally obligated to do so.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

● Must be able to push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs with reasonable accommodation.

● Must be able to stand at workstations for intervals of time on anti-fatigue mat

● Regularly required to sit, stand, bend and reach during the assembly process.

● Requires good hand and eye coordination.
