Precision Screw Machine Setup Machinist (Acme Multi-Spindle)

Do you enjoy transforming a blueprint into a dialed-in machine setup? Are you the person others trust to nail the first piece and keep production humming? Join us in Avon Lake and take ownership of setting up and operating Acme multi-spindle screw machines to produce high-quality components.
You Will
- Interpret blueprints/job orders, including dimensions, tolerances, and tooling details.
- Install collets, bushings, and stock pushers; load bar stock into the feeder.
- Set and adjust cams, gears, and stops for precise tool and stock control.
- Secure cutting tools, establish speeds and feeds, and validate settings.
- Cycle the machine and adjust to achieve target performance and accuracy.
- Start, monitor, and perform first-piece inspection against specifications.
- Submit acceptable first-piece (first article) parts to Quality for approval.
- Execute interval-based checks and complete all required documentation.
- Operate to standard using 2-pan system procedures.
- Sharpen or replace worn tools using a bench grinder.
- Maintain a tidy, organized, and safe workstation.
- Assist with additional duties as assigned.
You Have
- Demonstrated experience with setup/operation of Acme screw machines or similar production machinery.
- Ability to read and apply technical drawings and manufacturing docs.
- Strong mechanical aptitude; skilled with hand tools and measuring instruments.
- Dedication to quality, safety, and continuous improvement practices.
- Consistency in following standard processes and maintaining accurate records.
- Flexibility and initiative suited to a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

- Blueprint reading
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
