Senior Cost Accountant POST NUMBER: 466397
Vaco by Highspring has partnered with a rapidly growing, technology-driven manufacturing company that is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to support and enhance its cost accounting function.
Key Responsibilities
· Maintain and enhance standard cost systems, including bills of material, routings, labor, and overhead rates
· Analyze manufacturing variances (material, labor, overhead) and provide actionable insights to operations and finance leadership
· Support monthly close activities related to inventory, cost of goods sold, and manufacturing accruals
· Prepare inventory reconciliations, reserves, and obsolescence analysis
· Partner with manufacturing and operations teams to improve cost visibility, efficiency, and profitability
· Support annual standard cost roll and periodic re-costing initiatives
· Assist with budgeting and forecasting for manufacturing costs and capital expenditures
· Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls related to cost accounting and inventory
· Support internal and external audits, including documentation and walkthroughs
· Participate in ERP system enhancements and continuous process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
· 5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment (medical device, aerospace, precision manufacturing, or similar preferred)
· Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis
· Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, or similar)
· Advanced Excel skills; experience with data analysis tools a plus
· Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environmen

With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting.
