Irrigation Technician

As an Irrigation Technician, you will play a key role in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting irrigation systems for a variety of clients. Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair irrigation systems according to project specifications and plans
- Operate company equipment such as trenchers, geo-rippers, wire locators, mini skid-loaders, multimeters, pullers, trucks, and tampers
- Perform daily preventative maintenance on all assigned equipment
- Read and interpret irrigation plans and drawings to ensure accurate installation and repairs
- Lay out job sites and order necessary materials for each project
- Utilize GPS locator systems to identify and service controllers, valves, heads, rotors, and related components
- Ensure all projects are completed on schedule and within budget
- Interact professionally with clients, subcontractors, and team members
- Work independently with minimal supervision, while knowing when to seek assistance
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance, wearing company uniforms and required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license and insurability on company insurance policy
- Minimum of two years of experience in irrigation services preferred
- Comprehensive understanding of irrigation systems and components
- Ability to operate and maintain a variety of specialized equipment
- Ability to read and interpret irrigation plans and drawings
- Strong organizational skills for job site layout and material ordering
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and around environmental risks such as bees, poison ivy, pollen, and thorns
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds routinely, bend, stoop, and maintain full mobility in upper and lower body
