Project Manager - Life Sciences
Reports To: Director of Business Operations

Direct Reports: None Job Summary: The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring a seamless transition from prospect to client by serving as the primary liaison between sales, prospects, and operations. This role drives effective communication, process alignment, and the successful execution of client projects. The Project Manager partners with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver project outcomes while championing continuous improvement initiatives.
This role also manages supply chain resources to help fulfill Tennant’s commitment to its clients. Success in this position requires the ability to confidently manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, complex environment while upholding the company’s values and delivering exceptional client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities: Sales Collaboration & Prospect Coordination
- Partner with the sales team to gather detailed client requirements and confirm project feasibility.
- Facilitate pre-sales discussions to align on scope, budget, timelines, and potential constraints.
- Maintain a deep understanding of company capabilities to help set accurate client expectations.
- Prepare detailed handoff documentation to ensure internal teams are aligned and ready for execution.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including tasks, milestones, and deliverables.
- Coordinate with internal teams to assign responsibilities and align timelines.
- Act as a client advocate within the organization.
- Monitor progress and adjust plans as needed using project management tools.
- Serve as the central point of communication between sales, clients, and operations.
- Lead regular project meetings to maintain alignment across teams.
- Proactively identify and resolve issues that could impact project success.
- Analyze project requirements and determine necessary materials, personnel, and logistics.
- Coordinate with procurement, operations, and logistics to ensure timely execution.
- Monitor and adjust resource allocation for optimal efficiency.
- Ensure all project work complies with client specifications and company standards.
- Implement quality control checklists and oversee inspection processes.
- Proactively identify risks and implement contingency plans.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including timelines, KPIs, and risk logs.
- Prepare reports for leadership highlighting key performance trends and improvement opportunities.
- Organize documentation for audits and future project learnings.
- Serve as the primary contact for clients during the project transition phase.
- Provide regular updates on progress, timelines, and changes.
- Address concerns promptly and ensure client expectations are met or exceeded.
- Gather post-project feedback for continuous improvement.
- Work closely with internal teams to identify new business opportunities.
- Support the resolution of client challenges through internal collaboration.
- Adhere to company guidelines and contribute to the execution of the company's strategic vision.
- Prioritize tasks and follow through on commitments with a strong sense of urgency.
- Continuously develop product, market, and industry knowledge.
- Maintain and update internal systems daily.
- Regularly present project updates on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience; experience coordinating between sales and operations preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, or related field.
- Proficiency in both verbal and written communication.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to lead, negotiate, and instruct.
- Analytical and organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable adapting to new technologies and tools.
- High attention to detail and ability to closely manage project timelines.
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, email, project management tools).
- PMP certification is preferred but not required.
- T his position is performed in an environmentally controlled building. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and computer usage.
