Job Details – L&D RN Locum Tenens Position

• Job Title: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) – Locum Tenens
• Location: Columbus, Ohio (ZIP 43210)
• Healthcare Setting: High-Risk Obstetrics, Labor & Delivery Unit
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nursing Contract
• Start Date: September 8, 2025
• End Date: January 5, 2026
• Duration: 17 weeks
• Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:30), 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2050 - $2100
• Patient Population: Neonates, Adolescents, Adults
• Unit Beds: 13
• Daily Census: 10
• Weekend Coverage: Required

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
• Active RN license (compact nursing license or Ohio state RN license required at submission)
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP (AWHONN Advanced or NCC C-EFM accepted in lieu of AWHONN Advanced)
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting system required
• IV start and L&D clinical skills required
• Ability to float to other hospital units as needed
• Two professional references required (at least one from a nurse manager, director, or clinical leadership)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only considered)
• Previous travel nurse experience preferred

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care for laboring and postpartum patients, including high-risk obstetrics cases
• Perform and assist with L&D procedures: IV starts, sterile speculum exams, APGAR scoring, C-sections, cord sample collection, epidural anesthesia, and more
• Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate patterns using EFM and internal/external fetal monitoring
• Administer medications and therapies such as Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, and blood products
• Support breastfeeding and lactation, and provide patient and family education
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EPIC
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
• Float to Antepartum and other nursing units as required
• Participate in orientation and compliance processes, including timely fingerprinting
