Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to support their corporate accounting function. This role will be responsible for month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting, and process improvements. The ideal candidate has strong general ledger accounting experience, attention to detail, and the desire to work in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements, variance analysis, and supporting schedules.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
• Work closely with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other departments to support financial accuracy.
• Assist with freight and transportation cost accounting, including accruals and reconciliations.
• Assist with audit preparation by providing schedules and documentation to external and internal auditors.
• Support the budgeting and forecasting process by providing accurate financial data.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency within the accounting function.
• Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 4 years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on month-end close and reconciliations.
• Previous experience in the logistics or supply chain industry is a plus.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and lookups.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
