About this opportunity:

Cenovus is seeking a Performance Management Specialist for our Toledo refinery. This role is accountable for the overall improvement and enhancement of refinery performance (safe, compliant and reliable production) across the site by bringing focus to the most significant improvement activities through BIP (business improvement process), data tracking and Solomon.

What you’ll do:

  • Works closely with key stakeholders to ensure alignment and value delivery for BIP workstreams.
  • Provides project management leadership and support by managing overall Toledo Improvement progress, maintaining schedule adherence, identifying risks, and escalating issues.
  • Supports workstream owners, leads and contributors in measuring and ultimately achieving goals.
  • Coordinate the site work regarding the Solomon study. This includes managing data collection and reporting, engagement with the central team, as well as analysis..
  • Drives simplification of work processes and management systems and set clear targets and apply appropriate level of resources to manage and improve business processes.
  • Analyzes monthly data to calculate and report out operational availability (OA), process unit utilization (PUU), crude unit utilization (CUU), and other metrics as needed by the site. Requires understanding of Solomon metrics and calculation methodologies.


Who you are:

  • Legally authorized to work in the US
  • College degree required; Engineering degree ideal.
  • 12+ years of professional experience, with a proven track record in oil and gas or chemical manufacturing environments and demonstrated expertise in Project and Portfolio Management.
  • Experience in mid-to-large change management efforts and understands continuous improvement methodology.
