Travel PICU RN Job Details

• Job Title: PICU Registered Nurse – Travel Contract
• Location: Columbus, Ohio (43205)
• Healthcare Setting: Critical Care PICU Float Pool
• Shift: Night Shift, 4x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (October 20, 2025 – January 19, 2026)
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2,250 - $2,310
• Patient Population: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents
• Floating: Required to NICU, CV PICU, Emergency Department, stepdown, and MedSurg units
• Orientation: 72 hours

PICU RN Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of PICU Registered Nurse experience (1.5 years considered case-by-case)
• Active Ohio RN license or Compact State RN license
• Current BLS and PALS certifications
• Proficiency in EPIC charting (minimum 3/4 rating)
• Ability to provide two professional references (one must be a manager or supervisor)
• Willingness to float to NICU, CV PICU, ED, stepdown, and MedSurg units
• No permanent employment at Nationwide Children’s Hospital within the past 2 years
• Must reside outside a 60-mile radius of Columbus, OH
• First-time travel nurses considered with 3+ years of experience and Level 1 Trauma experience

PICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
• Float to NICU, CV PICU, Emergency Department, stepdown, and MedSurg units as needed
• Administer medications, blood products, and manage acute and chronic conditions
• Perform advanced nursing procedures: arterial line management, chest tube assistance, intubation support, ventilator management, central/PICC line care
• Monitor and interpret vital signs, ABGs, and hemodynamic data
• Maintain infection control and isolation precautions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
