Production Scheduler
Dana is a global leader in the supply of highly engineered driveline, sealing, and thermal-management technologies that improve the efficiency and performance of vehicles with both conventional and alternative-energy powertrains. Serving three primary markets – passenger vehicle, commercial truck, and off-highway equipment – Dana provides the world's original-equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket with local product and service support through a network of nearly 100 engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain and present master and daily Testing/ Prototype Production Schedules
- Coordinate and schedule testing equipment, prototype assembly lines, preventative maintenance and calibrations to meet internal and external customer timing while maximizing uptime and resources.
- Create work orders for the production floor based on current schedule
- Identify and report out constraints with proposed solutions to individual program stakeholders.
- Coordinate the completion of testing projects, ensure test material, tooling and fixturing are available as determined by the program schedules
- Coordinate with global Test Labs to ensure appropriate utilization of global test resources.
- Responsible for outsourcing Testing. Scheduling, shipping parts, day to day activities.
- Use plant systems to maintain material information.
- Maintain shortage reports by program to assist the material planning efforts to keep production on track
- Work directly with the production supervisor to prioritize daily activities and help re-organize labor as needed
- Interface with all Engineering disciplines including Advanced, Product, Applications, Gear and Manufacturing/Assembly as well as external customers as required.
- Actively participate in program review meetings
- Support and execution of Dana Operating System (DOS) Objectives
- Support and active involvement in department improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as required
Required Skills:
- 2+ years of scheduling experience
- Excellent problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify and resolve issues and challenges.
- Experience in pre-production, prototype, testing and/or launch environment
- Must demonstrate a strong business acumen including knowledge of manufacturing, finance, materials and quality to be able to understand the impact of sourcing decisions on overall business success.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work with people at all levels within and outside Dana in a professional manner.
- Familiarity with Procurement and Quality Supplier Metrics
- Must understand blueprints and technical specifications.
- Strong personal computer skills required, including experience with MS Office software.
- Willing to travel occasionally and periodically work non-traditional business hours.
- SAP Master Data and Scheduling Experience
