NOW HIRING: Fiber Optic Cable Splicers

Wage: $28-$34hr

Contract Type: Direct Placement

Job Description: We are seeking experienced Fiber Optic Splicers to support fiber installation and maintenance projects at data center outside Columbus, OH. This role supports installation, new construction turn-ups, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance of fiber optic networks nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Perform fiber optic splicing for new construction and live network environments
• Terminate, test, troubleshoot, and maintain fiber optic networks
• Build and work within fiber optic splice cases, including cases with live customer traffic
• Conduct ribbon and loose-tube splicing (single-mode and multi-mode)
• Perform mass/ribbon splicing on fiber counts ranging from 6ct flat drop to 432ct
• Operate and interpret test results using OTDRs, Flukes, and power meters
• Provide OTDR trace results for client network turn-ups as required
• Follow safety standards and quality procedures on all job sites

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Fiber Optic Splicer
• Strong working knowledge of:
  • Fusion splicing
  • Fiber strippers and cleavers
  • Power meters and OTDR equipment
  • Aerial booms and related tools
• Experience with both ribbon and loose-tube fiber
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve fiber network issues efficiently
• Comfortable working in live network environments

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ribbon splicing experience preferred but not required.
• Experience with wire harness assembly, cable routing, Cat 6 cables, and fiber optic installation.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Columbus, OH.

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $52000.00/yr.
