Job Description:
We are seeking a Data Engineer to join a newly established team focused on large-scale data migration and system implementation efforts. This role will support case management system deployments (court, attorney, and jury workflows) and play a critical role in ensuring data quality, consistency, and readiness across multiple product environments.
This individual will own the full data conversion lifecycle—from initial sampling through transformation, loading, and iterative refinement—ensuring high-quality, production-ready datasets. The ideal candidate is highly technical, detail-oriented, and brings an automation-first mindset to improving data processes and system reliability.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain Python and SQL scripts for data cleaning, transformation, and preparation

Design, build, and optimize ETL pipelines and data workflows

Execute data conversion activities including sampling, transforming, loading, and reprocessing datasets

Establish and enforce data hygiene standards and ensure consistency across environments

Analyze and optimize SQL performance (indexes, partitioning, execution plans)

Handle sensitive and PII data securely and in compliance with best practices

Leverage AI and automation tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort

Build and maintain infrastructure supporting scalable and repeatable data pipelines
Requirements:

3–5 years of experience in data engineering or related field

Experience supporting justice/case management systems (court, attorney, or jury systems)

Strong proficiency in Python and SQL (ability to write scripts from scratch and modify existing code)

Hands-on experience with ETL processes and data pipeline architecture

Solid understanding of database performance tuning and optimization

Experience handling sensitive/PII data with strong security practices

Proven ability to improve data hygiene, documentation, and operational consistency

Strong problem-solving skills with an automation-first mindset
