Job Title: Water/Wastewater Operator (Class 2)
Location: Orient, Ohio
Schedule: 7 days/week facility | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Weekend rotation (every other weekend or varied schedule with another operator)
Pay Rate: $36.06/hr paid bi-weekly (translates to $75,000 yearly)

About the Role
We are seeking a Class 2 licensed Water/Wastewater Operator to support daily operations at a 7-day-a-week facility, ensuring safe and compliant water and wastewater treatment processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor water and wastewater treatment systems in accordance with regulatory standards
- Maintain system performance through routine inspections, testing, and operational adjustments
- Collect samples and record operational data for compliance and reporting purposes
- Travel as needed to support facility operations
- Follow safety protocols while working with chemicals, treatment systems, and equipment
- Maintain accurate documentation related to treatment operations and regulatory compliance
Required Qualifications
- Class 2 Water Operator License
- Valid driver’s license (required to operate a state vehicle)
- Healthcare-professional level CPR certification
- Ability to work rotating weekends as part of a shared schedule
- Ability to work outdoors and in industrial environments
Training & Certification Requirements
- All certified water and wastewater operators must maintain certification according to OAC 3745-7-15
- Must complete OEPA Director-approved contact hours required for certification renewal
Unusual Working Conditions
- Exposure to sewage, sewage odors, corrosive and caustic chemicals
- Outdoor work in extreme temperatures
- Exposure to loud noise
- Occasional work in tight or confined spaces
- Travel may be required
