Job Summary
The Saw Operator is responsible for safely operating cutting equipment to cut raw materials to specified lengths and dimensions. This role ensures accuracy, quality, and productivity while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate saws (band saw, circular saw, chop saw, or similar equipment) to cut materials to required specifications
- Read work orders, measurements, and cut lists to ensure accuracy
- Measure and inspect finished pieces to verify quality and tolerances
- Load and unload materials onto saw tables or conveyors
- Perform basic machine setup, adjustments, and blade changes as required
- Identify and report equipment issues or maintenance needs
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all OSHA, safety, and company policies
- Meet productivity, quality, and attendance expectations
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous saw or machine operating experience preferred
- Manufacturing, lumber, metal, or fabrication experience a plus
- Ability to read tape measures, rulers, and basic measurements
- Strong attention to detail and safety
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
