Featuring a seasonal patio that overlooks the Cuyahoga River, the River Merchant is Kent's premier riverfront restaurant. We are located at 911 North Mantua Street in Kent, OH; our hours of operation are: 5 PM–9:30 PM (Mon), 11 AM–9:30 PM (Tue–Thu and Sun) and 11 AM–10:30 PM (Fri–Sat).

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking part-time Dishwasher to join our team at The River Merchant. The ideal candidate will ensure that all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are cleaned and sanitized efficiently, contributing to the smooth operation of our kitchen and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate dishwashing machines and manually wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, including floors, countertops, and sinks, following health and safety regulations.
• Properly store clean dishes, utensils, and equipment in designated areas.
• Report any maintenance or repair needs for dishwashing machines and kitchen equipment.
• Dispose of trash and recyclables, and ensure trash bins are emptied regularly.
• Adhere to all safety and sanitation policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.
• Skills: Ability to operate dishwashing equipment and perform physical tasks, such as lifting and bending.
• Attention to Detail: Strong focus on cleanliness and attention to detail.
• Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Communication: Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Capable of lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50lbs.
• Willingness to work in a hot and wet environment.

Shift duration availability (M–Sun)

• AM shift: 7 hr (9 AM – 3 PM)
• PM shift: 7–8 hr (3 PM – 10 or 11 PM)

Compensation is $14–$16/hr, dependent upon prior industry knowledge .
