Dental Hygienist in Private Children's Office

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our private, children's practice. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in providing quality oral healthcare to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to perform dental cleanings and assist the dentist in various procedures. This is a full-time position with competitive pay.
Duties:
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, root planning, and polishing
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Conduct patient assessments, including reviewing medical history and vital signs
- Assist the dentist during procedures by handing instruments and providing suction
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations
- Administer local anesthesia as directed by the dentist
- Perform dental charting and maintain accurate patient records
- Utilize CAD (Computer-Aided Design) systems for creating dental restorations
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient and effective patient care
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of dental assisting procedures and techniques
- Proficient in taking accurate vital signs and documenting medical information
- Familiarity with medical terminology and coding practices
- Ability to assess patient needs and provide appropriate care recommendations
- Experience with medical documentation and maintaining accurate records
- Knowledge of dental imaging systems and ability to interpret results
Requirements:
- Valid Dental Hygienist license in Ohio
- Graduation from an accredited Dental Hygiene program
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
