Senior Report Developer – Turning Data into Clinical Insight

About the Role

Are you a data storyteller with a passion for healthcare? We’re looking for a Senior Report Developer who can transform complex clinical and business data into actionable insights that improve patient care and organizational outcomes.

In this role, you’ll collaborate with data architects, SMEs, and fellow developers to design and build powerful reporting solutions using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) , Power BI , and Sunrise Clinical Analytics . From designing scalable data models to crafting dashboards that illuminate key trends, you’ll help bring clarity to complexity — and make data truly work for people.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the design, development, and testing of data marts, models, and reports that power smarter healthcare decisions.
• Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and rapidly prototype dashboards and visualizations.
• Write and optimize stored procedures, T-SQL, and ETL processes to ensure accuracy, performance, and reliability.
• Mentor junior developers and guide the team through complex data challenges.
• Develop documentation, user guides, and release notes to keep projects transparent and maintainable.
• Conduct quality assurance and UAT testing to ensure every report meets our high standards.
• Continuously improve scalability and performance of reporting systems.
• Explore and recommend new BI and analytics tools that keep our team on the cutting edge.

What You Bring

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Experience:
• • 5+ years in IT healthcare (preferred)
  • 3+ years of hands-on SSRS report development (required)
  • Strong SQL/T-SQL skills, including stored procedures, joins, and query optimization
  • Familiarity with SSIS and Power BI (required)
  • Background in data modeling and data warehouse concepts
• Certifications:
• • Microsoft Certified IT Professional Developer (MCITP) (required)
  • Microsoft SQL Server or MCDBA, ITIL (preferred)
• Epic experience in any of the following modules is a major plus: Cupid, OpTime, Radiant, Anesthesia, Lumens — plus Reporting Workbench, Cogito, and Slicer Dicer.
