SUMMARY:
The Commercial Sales Representative is responsible for developing and maintaining a profitable book of commercial insurance business by identifying new prospects, conducting risk assessments, presenting coverage solutions, and closing sales. This role focuses on small to mid-sized commercial accounts and requires strong prospecting, relationship-building, and consultative selling skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development & Sales
- Prospect, generate, and qualify new commercial insurance opportunities through networking, referrals, cold calling, and community engagement
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified prospects
- Conduct client needs assessments and risk evaluations
- Present tailored insurance proposals and coverage recommendations
- Negotiate terms and close new business opportunities
- Meet or exceed monthly and annual new business production goals
Client Relationship Management
- Build long-term relationships with business clients
- Conduct coverage reviews and renewal consultations
- Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities
- Partner with Account Managers to ensure smooth onboarding and servicing
- Maintain high client retention and satisfaction levels
REQUIRED SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
- Active 2-20 Property & Casualty (P&C) license
- 2+ years of insurance sales experience (commercial lines preferred)
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Proficiency with CRM or agency management systems

- $50k+ Base Salary plus Commission
