Major Goals and Responsibilities:
The Solutions Engineer, a core member of the Technology Alignment Team, collaborates primarily with the client success (account management) team to align a client's IT services, products, software, and infrastructure with the organization’s business goals. This role involves designing, scoping, and pricing technical solutions tailored to meet the client's business technology needs and requirements. During client engagements, the Strategic Technical Account Manager (STAM) spearheads business strategy discussions, while the Solutions Engineer focuses on the technical aspects of solution design, and the Systems Analyst addresses client support requirements. Together, these three resources ensure ongoing alignment between client business strategy, client environment technical configuration, and end-user support experiences.
The Solutions Engineer is the primary sales engineer working within the client success or account management team – in instances of complex scopes or more sophisticated environment designs, it is expected that the Solutions Engineer engages with Solutions Architects to ensure proper considerations and scoping efforts are taken. Key considerations when Solutions Engineers are scoping solutions for client environments include the client organization’s financial budgeting implications, security posture, operational stability, operational efficiency, and the end user experience impact.
As a member of the Technology Alignment Team, the Solutions Engineer will be engaged on an ad hoc basis to drive internal team initiatives forward. Examples of internal initiatives include, but are not limited to: product/solution stack evaluation, scoping and pricing process refinement, solution training for sales team and other Prosource Technologies personnel, client education training, etc.
Requirements
Essential Activities and Responsibilities
- Scoping & pricing of technical solutions to meet client’s business technology requirement
- Involvement in process from scoping, pricing and sales efforts through implementation
- Ongoing development of client Technology Roadmap, including scoping and pricing of projects or initiatives identified in pre-sales process by Solutions Architect
- Involvement in process from scoping, pricing and sales efforts through implementation
- Development of Statements of Work (SOW) for client projects outlining technical requirements, project tasks and requirements for successful implementation
- Review of quotes and proposals prior to delivery to clients to ensure accuracy, competitive positioning, and maintain an acceptable gross profit
- Attending STAM-led TAP discussions with clients, when applicable, for solution proposal or leading technical components of conversation with the client
- Continuing education related to interpersonal skills, communication skills, and technical skill development
- Technology stack evolution – ensuring solution & products in current technology stack are best-in-class and constantly identifying, testing, and evaluating replacement or supplemental technology solutions based on client’s current and future needs
Success Attributes:
- 4+ year Information Technology related college degree or equivalent work experience in the areas of IT support/engineering
- High-degree of technical competency in the following areas:
- WAN Architecture
- Cloud-centric Solutions
- Advanced Cyber Security Frameworks (e.g. NIST, ISO, SOC2, CMMC, etc.)
- Advanced Networking Protocols
- Microsoft Azure & Microsoft 365
- Hosted Voice/Telephony
- Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Strategy
- Hyperconverged Infrastructure
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Strong problem-solving, negotiating, and skills
- Highly client focused with exceptional client service, inter-personal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Thoroughness and high-attention to detail in documentation efforts will be key differentiators to success
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple active opportunities.
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with occasional after-hours commitments as needed.

Compensation Method
- Base salary plus quarterly bonus based on individual & Prosource Technologies performance:
- Bonus based on completion/achievement of milestones set by Technology Alignment Team
- Bonus structure outlined in detail in Working Arrangement document
Salary Description
$65,000 - $80,000 annually plus bonus
