School Centered Clinical Counselor
Salary Range: $50,000 - $52,000 + bonuses based on productivity

Check out “Bellefaire JCB: Join Our Team” on Vimeo! POSITION SUMMARY: The TEAM Counselor is a clinical professional embedded in the school community to provide specific collaboration services. These services are designed to enhance and improve the social and emotional wellbeing of students in the school environment. TEAM Counselors interface with school professionals and students to provide consultation, prevention, and traditional counseling services. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Partner with school staff in order to identify, understand, refer, and treat mental health needs in schools.
2. Attend all school requested meetings to promote social emotional development.
3. Provide education to school staff about social emotional development, trauma informed care, and positive behavioral strategies.
4. Engage in prevention strategies at the school level through individual, classroom, small group, and parent/family lessons.
5. Provide mental health crisis support in schools.
6. Meet with parents of students to provide education, consultation, and mental health treatment on behalf of identified students.
7. Provide professional clinical services, including but not necessarily limited to: diagnostic and CANS assessments, treatment plan review, individual/group/family counseling, and TBS to identified students who have higher needs than prevention services.
8. Provide services in the community or home as needed to engage families in the school community.
9. Contribute to the development and maintenance of the clinical record through the timely completion of assigned documentation in accordance with applicable licensing, accreditation, and grant regulations and standards. All documentation to be submitted within set program deadlines.
10. Adhere to Medicaid productivity expectation and utilize satisfaction surveys to gauge quality of prevention work. OTHER DUTIES:
1. Provide back up to other program staff as necessary.
2. Maintain awareness of industry trends and professional knowledge by attending agency training, maintaining continuing education standards and reviewing professional publications.
3. Attend scheduled staff meetings, supervision, and on-going training as required
4. Maintain trainings, certifications and licensure must be kept current in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards
5. Maintain necessary documentation and oversight of client clinical record
6. Respect the privacy of clients and hold in confidence all information obtained during the client’s treatment. All client-related documents should be handled in accordance with Agency guidelines on confidential material.
7. Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to Agency policies and procedures.
8. Other duties as assigned by management. QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Minimum Master’s Degree in Social Work, or Masters in Clinical Counseling required.
- Licensure: Valid Ohio LSW, LPC, LISW, or LPCC required.
- Skills/Competencies:
- Knowledge of prevention services in the school setting, social emotional development of children, effective positive behavior strategies, mental health assessment, treatment planning, developmental psychopathology. Strong clinical skills in systems and methods in family therapy, group therapy, child psychotherapy, DSM-5 TR diagnoses, and behavioral therapy. Ability to perform job responsibilities with a high degree of initiative and independent judgment. Comfortable with adjusting responsibilities based on school requests.

- Cultural Competency: Demonstrates awareness, sensitivity and skills in working professionally with diverse individuals, groups and communities who represent various cultural and personal background and characteristics. Interpersonal Communication: Communicates clearly using verbal, nonverbal, and written skills in a professional context; demonstrates clear understanding and use of professional language.
- Professional & Ethical Conduct: Adheres to professional values such as honesty, personal responsibility, and accountability; applies ethical concepts within scope of work and adheres to Agency policies and procedures.
- Collaboration & Teamwork: Functions effectively as a member of a professional team that includes employees, clients and family members.
- Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Recognizes problems and responds appropriately; gathers information and sorts through it to identify and address root cause issues; makes timely decisions.
- Experience: Previous experience working with children, adolescents and their families required.
- Other: Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets the underwriting criteria of the Agency’s insurance
