Structural Steel Inspector

Job Title: Structural Steel Inspector Job Description We are seeking a full-time Structural Steel Inspector in the Columbus, OH area. The Inspector will perform on-site observations of steel connections, bolting, and more on various structural steel construction projects. Responsible for reporting and tracking any discrepancies through the completion of the project, and communicating with construction managers and construction crews to observe the quality of the steel erection. Seeking an experienced Inspector who can hit the ground running. Responsibilities + Perform on-site observations of steel construction projects. + Maintain consistent communication with construction managers and construction crews to observe the quality of the steel erection. + Report and track any discrepancies through the completion of the project. + Hold authority to reject and resolve conflict within the scope of authority. + Adhere to strict safety standards. Essential Skills + Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification from the American Welding Society (AWS). + ICC S1 (Structural Steel & Bolting) and S2 (Structural Welding) certifications required. + 5+ years of structural steel inspection experience strongly preferred. + Proficient in reading and interpreting project drawings and specifications. + High school diploma. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Fall protection/confined space certifications. + Engineering or related degree. Work Environment The majority of the work will be performed in the field at various construction sites. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Westerville, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
