Automotive Technician

Auto Import Group is a growing automotive dealership and service operation specializing in import vehicles, diagnostics, repairs, and reconditioning . We are expanding our team and looking for skilled Automotive Technicians who want flexibility in how they are compensated and the opportunity to grow with a fast-moving automotive business.

We welcome technicians ranging from entry-level mechanics to master technicians with advanced certifications.

Position Overview

The Automotive Technician will diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide variety of vehicles with a focus on import brands and modern vehicle systems .

Technicians will work with our team on customer repairs, dealership inventory reconditioning, and performance diagnostics.

Compensation – Flexible Pay Models

We offer multiple pay structures based on experience, certifications, and productivity.

Technicians may choose the model that works best for them.

Hourly Pay

• $20 – $40+ per hour depending on experience
• Guaranteed base pay with opportunity for bonuses

Flat Rate

• Competitive flat-rate pay per labor hour
• Higher earnings potential for experienced technicians

Revenue Share / Commission

• Percentage of labor billed
• Ideal for experienced technicians who produce high volume

Hybrid Model

• Base hourly + commission on labor performed
• Production bonuses available

Contract / Independent Tech

• Per job or per vehicle repair
• Great for specialized technicians or part-time availability

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics and mechanical repairs
• Work on engines, brakes, suspension, steering, and electrical systems
• Diagnose drivability and check engine issues
• Conduct vehicle inspections and recommend repairs
• Complete dealership inventory reconditioning
• Maintain clean and organized work area
• Use scan tools and diagnostic equipment

Preferred Experience

Experience with one or more of the following is a plus:

• European imports (BMW, Audi, Mercedes, VW)
• Asian imports (Toyota, Honda, Lexus, Nissan)
• Diagnostics and electrical troubleshooting
• Engine and transmission repair
• Suspension and brake systems
• ADAS systems and modern vehicle technology

Certifications (Preferred but Not Required)

• ASE Certifications
• Manufacturer Certifications
• State Mechanic Certifications
• Electrical / Diagnostic specialization

Technicians without certifications but with strong real-world experience are encouraged to apply.
