RN – Primary Instructor (STNA Program) – Flexible / Part-Time

Job Description:

First Stick Phlebotomy & Healthcare Academy is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as a Primary Instructor (PI) for our expanding STNA (Nurse Aide Training) Program in the Columbus area.

This is a flexible leadership opportunity designed for an experienced nurse who enjoys teaching and mentorship, without the demands of a full clinical schedule.

Role Overview:

The Primary Instructor serves as the clinical and instructional authority for the program, focusing on:

Student competency validation

Skills checklist review and sign-off

Program oversight and support

Ensuring quality training standards

Clinical sessions are supported by an additional RN, allowing this role to focus primarily on oversight and instruction rather than full clinical coverage.

Schedule & Structure:

Flexible, part-time involvement

Initial phase may include individual student completion

Program growth expected beginning August

Compensation:

$150 per student (initial phase)

$300 – $400 monthly oversight (starting August during active training periods)

Additional pay available for optional clinical or instructional involvement

Qualifications:

Active Ohio RN License (in good standing)

Experience in long-term care preferred

Previous CNA/STNA instructor experience or equivalent strongly preferred/TTT

Strong communication and teaching ability

Responsibilities:

• Lead and instruct STNA students using provided curriculum and real-world examples
• Demonstrate patient care techniques, including ADLs, infection control, and vital sign monitoring
• Provide guidance and mentorship to students during skills labs and classroom instruction
• Oversee and manage our STNA training program, ensuring compliance, quality instruction, and student success.
• Maintain student records, attendance, and evaluation documentation
• Foster a respectful and inclusive learning environment

Qualifications:

• Current LPN/RN Licensure
• Minimum of 1 years of hands-on bedside care experience
• Teaching/TTT is a plus
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills
• Strong commitment to student success and professional growth
• Comfortable using or learning basic technology tools like Learning Management Systems (LMS)
