What we need:

We are seeking energetic, passionate people who enjoy the outdoors and want to play a key role for the position of Assistant Park & Watercraft Manager within the Division of Parks & Watercraft, headquartered at Cowan Lake State Park , assigned to Clinton County . The address is 1750 Osborn Rd., Wilmington, OH 45177.

What you will do…

• Acts as assistant to the Park Manager overseeing all park operations in their absence at Cowan Lake State Park
• Assists with implementation, prioritizing expenditures and tracking of the fiscal operating budget
• Supervise and provide training opportunities to personnel both permanent and seasonal/intermittent positions
• Assist in ODNR’s mission to provide exceptional outdoor recreation and boating opportunities by balancing customer service, education, protection and conservation of Ohio's state parks and waterways
• Works with local communities, schools, and other organizations to develop partnerships and promote park programs, events, and activities
• Starting hourly pay of $26.92/hr. with multiple pay increases over your first 4 years of service, with an end salary of $33.35/hr.
• There may also be cost of living adjustments (COLA) applied. Longevity pay supplements begin after five (5) years of state service. For more details, refer to the E1 Exempts Pay Range Schedule & Longevity Rates Exempt Employees E1 | Department of Administrative Services.

18 mos. trg. or exp. in natural resources management, parks & recreation management, facility management, hospitality management, business or public administration or related operational area of parks (multiple as defined by approved position description); 6 mos. trg. or exp. in supervisory &/or management principles/techniques; valid driver’s license.

• Or completion of associate core program in natural resources management, parks & recreation management, facility management, hospitality management, business or public administration; 6 mos. trg. or exp. in supervisory &/or management principles/techniques; valid driver’s license.

• Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
