FIRE SAFETY INSPECTOR
Job Overview
The Jackson Township Board of Trustees is accepting applications for the position of full-time Fire Safety Inspector in the Fire Department. Hours for this position are forty (40) hours weekly, Monday through Friday. Must be able to work weekdays and be available for callbacks, afterhours, and on weekends. Must have the ability to perform all duties of a Fire Safety Inspector (FSI), as addressed in the NFPA 1031 Standard.

Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of buildings and construction sites to ensure compliance with fire safety codes and regulations.
- Evaluate fire sprinkler systems, alarm systems, and other fire protection equipment for proper installation, functionality, and maintenance.
- Review system design plans to verify that fire safety measures are integrated effectively during the construction process.
- Inspect fire alarm systems and ensure they meet all operational standards; identify potential hazards or deficiencies.
- Collaborate with construction teams and contractors to provide guidance on fire safety requirements and best practices.
- Promote awareness of fire safety protocols through educational initiatives and on-site consultations.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, findings, corrective actions, and compliance documentation for audit purposes.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Be a United States citizen.
- Possess a valid Ohio Driver's License.
- Must be certified as a Fire Safety Inspector (State of Ohio)
- Must be certified as an EMT-B (State of Ohio) of local government and its general functions.

- The starting pay rate will be in accordance with the Jackson Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 2280
Pay: $72,791.68 per year
