Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) Specialist

Overview
DarkStar Intelligence is seeking an AFSIM Specialist to provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for mission-critical AFSIM Model Management Office (MMO) software products and services in Dayton, OH. In this role, you will ensure system availability and deliver responsive, high-quality customer support to a classified user base. This position is essential to sustaining operational readiness for high-visibility Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) efforts. This role operates in an on-site, classified environment. U.S. citizenship is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Efficiently categorize and prioritize incoming support requests based on urgency and mission impact, ensuring timely responses through service-level monitoring.
• Perform initial diagnostics and troubleshooting using available tools and documentation, validating and replicating reported issues.
• Engage directly with users to gather details, provide self-help resources, and recommend improvements to support materials.
• Document and track all support interactions with detailed records, leveraging metrics such as resolution time and user satisfaction for continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with technical specialists to resolve complex or high-impact issues, maintaining transparent communication throughout the escalation process.

Minimum Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance with SAP eligibility.
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a technical support or helpdesk environment.
• Proven troubleshooting and customer service skills in classified or government environments.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity with issue tracking systems and documentation platforms.

Desired Qualifications

• Master’s degree in engineering, science, mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
• Direct familiarity with the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) in DoD environments.
• Experience in software testing or quality assurance (QA).
• Knowledge of knowledgebase management and user training development.
• ITIL certification or equivalent service management credentials.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $100,000 - $200,000 annually
The listed pay range is intended as a general guideline and does not represent a guaranteed salary. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including the role’s responsibilities, the candidate’s education, experience, and skill set, internal equity, market data, and applicable laws or agreements.

Additional Details
Travel: Up to 10% as required.
