Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details

• Location: Columbus, OH 43210 (Ohio healthcare jobs)
• Unit: Medical/Surgical Telemetry (includes Surgical and Burn Unit)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (September 8, 2025 – December 8, 2025)
• Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 – 19:30), 36 hours/week
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1940 - $1990
• Float Requirement: Must float to other hospital units as needed
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics, including behavioral health and long-term care patients
• Charting System: Epic EMR
• Weekend Coverage: Required
• Orientation: 24 hours

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact or Ohio state RN license required at submission)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
• BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• Proficient IV start and management skills
• Experience with Epic charting system
• Previous travel nursing or locum tenens RN experience preferred
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Two professional references (one from a manager/director or formal leadership role)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a Med/Surg Telemetry and Burn Unit
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform lab draws
• Educate patients and families on care plans, procedures, and discharge instructions
• Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage dysrhythmias, and follow IV insulin protocols
• Perform wound care, wound vac management, and feeding tube care
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EMR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
• Float to other hospital units as needed to support patient care
