Lead Electrical Engineer
Location: Greenville, OH (On-site)

A leading manufacturer in the coatings and surface treatment industry is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to support its 24/7 chemical manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for maintaining and upgrading the sites electrical infrastructure and process instrumentation, ensuring safety, reliability, and operational efficiency. The position also leads capital projects and collaborates across departments and with external contractors.

• Ensure safe and reliable operation of electrical systems including switchgear, distribution panels, and lighting panels, while maintaining arc flash compliance.


• Interpret technical documentation such as P&IDs, engineering drawings, and vendor specifications to support efficient repairs and inventory management.


• Develop and manage documentation for electrical and instrumentation installations, including bid packages, construction records, and specification sheets.


• Support automation initiatives by applying expertise in DCS, PLCs, and VFDs to reduce process variability and improve operational insights.


• Collaborate with procurement, contractors, suppliers, and production teams to align on technical and operational goals.


• Utilize SAP for maintenance and procurement workflows, and use Microsoft Office and MS Project for communication, reporting, and planning.


• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to site instrument technicians, supporting their daily tasks and long-term development.

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering required.


• Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, instrumentation, and automation technologies.


• Proficiency in SAP, MS Project, and Microsoft Office suite.


• Experience working in a Process Safety Management (PSM) environment preferred.


• Excellent communication and mentoring skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.


• Capable of managing non-routine and emergency situations such as schedule disruptions, plant shutdowns, startups, and commissioning activities.
