Position Duties: Evaluates system architectures to select the best alternative to meet stakeholder and system requirements. Contributes to the development and management of system requirements based on stakeholder requirements. Contributes to the development of a technical solution which meets the requirements and complies with state-of-the-art based on domain standards including analyses, evaluation and mitigation of design risks. Contributes to the exchange of development-related information and collaboration with internal/external development partners for system elements (e.g. E/E, software, sub-systems, components), with production (e.g. special characteristics or producibility aspects), with customers regarding system aspects, with verification and validation at the system level or with other relevant functions. Applies given system development processes. Responsible for the technical deliverables of the eMotor subsystem for BEV and Hybrid Electric Drives projects. Coordinates and facilitates the Product Development activities between the eMotor subgroups including the Requirement Manager and mechanical teams. Acts as a technical liaison between the customer and the internal teams. Responsible for applying system development processes like JIRA, Windchill RV&S, Confluence, CoLab.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field and one (1) year experience in the position offered, as a Team Leader, or a related position. Must have one (1) year of experience with: Overseeing technical deliverables related to product design and new product development with automotive manufacturing industry; Coordinating and facilitating Product Development activities between cross functional teams including Design, Simulation, Project Management, testing teams, prototype teams, Industrial Engineering and Suppliers; Acting as technical coordinator between customer and internal team; Technical requirement gathering from customers and obtaining assessment from cross functional team and reverting to customers to freeze requirements; Coordinating various iterations and discussing best optimal solutions with customers; Applying system development processes including Windchill, Creo, DFMEA, SAP, xMind; Providing technical assessments and making critical decisions for automotive part build; Managing the timeplan for technical deliverables and moderating meetings to ensure the necessary documentation is completed; Checking analysis results and signing-off for baselining documents; Conducting review meetings, supporting root-cause analysis for failures and participating in troubleshooting using structured methods and tools including 7QC tools, 8D, benchmarking, stack-up analysis, measurement reporting; Conducting reviews cost-reduction initiatives such as VAVE discussions and providing technical assessments. Travel required to various and unanticipated Schaeffler locations and client sites throughout the U.S.; 5% Telecommuting permitted two (2) days per week.
