Textile Designer

Position Overview Our Furniture retail client is seeking a freelance Textile Designer to support design initiatives across multiple business segments. These roles will focus on creating innovative, trend-driven designs for furniture and home decor products, ensuring alignment with seasonal concepts and business objectives.

The clients is looking to get someone started mid-February for their busy season of mid-February through end of May. During the busy season, hours will be around 10 to 20 hours a week but may fluctuate and then if it is a good partnership they would like to continue working together on an as needed basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and interpret seasonal/global trends, themes, and styling for product development.
• Design patterns and prints for home furnishing products from concept through final sample approval, ensuring alignment with line plans, assortment strategies, and cost targets.
• Manage design execution and product development lifecycle.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with design leadership, merchandising, sourcing, and vendors.
• Maintain adherence to project timelines and master calendar deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Fine Arts, or a related field.
• Proven experience in pattern design within the retail industry.
• Strong portfolio showcasing a range of print and pattern work.
• Textile and/or Upholstery experience.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
