CNC Laser Operator

Job description

AmbaFlex Manufacturing has five production facilities worldwide responsible for producing conveyor systems for AmbaFlex Customers. The AMCAS Production facility, located in Canton, OH, is seeking a CNC Laser operator responsible for operating the CNC laser cutting machine and supporting the production team via supervisor instruction on tasks such as, assembling parts, operating machinery, and bending, punching or sawing of metal products. The CNC Laser Operator is apart of the Internal Fabrication Department, which is responsible for all metal fabrication, cutting, forming and welding at the Canton Production Facility.

**Core Responsibilities:

**

1. Machine Setup & Operation

• Set up and operate the CNC Fiber Laser (Bodor).

• Assess machine setup including program retrieval, correct gases, proper nozzles, lens condition, and materials.

• Confirm proper start-up and shut-down of the laser.

• Perform laser cutting operations efficiently and per specifications.

• Diagnose machining problems during jobs and make modifications as needed.

• Operate overhead crane, forklift, tape measure, calipers, and hand tools.

• Perform material handling tasks including loading material for job runs.

2. Quality Control & Inspection

• Check quality of machined product and notify supervisor/crew chief of process issues.

• Measure completed workpieces to verify conformance to specifications.

• Read and interpret work orders, including materials, cutting locations, dimensions, and tolerances.

3. Programming & System Navigation

• Operate and navigate in a Windows-based computer environment.

• Program nesting software to maximize material usage and minimize scrap.

• Effectively utilize MES to track time and job progress.

4. Safety, Maintenance & Housekeeping

• Maintain safe operations by adhering to all safety procedures and regulations.

• Perform operator-level maintenance and 6S housekeeping per established schedules.

• Maintain shop, tools, and equipment in proper working condition.

5. Additional Responsibilities

• Perform other duties as assigned.
