SMS Mill Services, LLC is a leader in the steel mill services industry prioritizing recycling and environmental/workers ’ safety and handling all operations with integrity. SMS is seeking a highly skilled and safety-focused Lubrication Technician for its Mill Services site in Mingo Junction, Ohio. This is a 24/7 operation; located on steel mill property.

• Draining the oil from a heavy equipment and replacing it to manufacturer specifications
• Topping off other fluids, including brake, power steering and windshield wiper fluid
• Inspecting the engine block and underbody for leaks and potential issues
• Checking tire pressure and filling tires with air as needed to manufacturer specifications
• Installing new parts, such as air filters, oil filters, windshield wipers and batteries
• Lubricating moving parts as necessary, including those in the engine and wheel bearings and ensuring the engine is kept clean throughout servicing
• Diagnosing existing issues and consulting with lead mechanics on the team to address the equipment issues
• Creating detailed service reports

• An aptitude for mechanical diagnosis and repair
• Demonstrated experience with servicing vehicles
• A valid drivers license and the ability to work legally in the US
• Passing a drug screening and criminal background check
• Time management and organizational skills as well as hand-eye coordination
• Effective communication and customer service skills
• The ability to read and follow complex directions in manuals as well as relay information in reports
• The physical ability to perform all tasks related to the position of Lube Technician, such as bending and reaching, standing for long periods of time and lifting over 60 pounds

• Adhere to all local, state, OSHA, environmental and site-specific regulations.
• Perform and document daily safety checks, follow all safety rules, wear PPE, provide a safe environment for all employees and visitors.

• Day shift
• Working overtime on weekdays and weekends
• PAY = $23/ hour
