Department Summary

The Assistant Registrar for Registration and Scheduling manages and coordinates university-wide processes for class registration, class and classroom scheduling, curriculum and requisite maintenance, and system access. This role supports enrollment across all campuses, levels, and modalities, and contributes to operational goals that reflect the university’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities. The position leads efforts to enhance registration and scheduling through technology and best practices, improving efficiency and service delivery. It provides strategic oversight of systems and processes that support these functions, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and compliance standards. The role also includes direct supervision, mentorship, and guidance on daily operations of one staff member.



Position Profile

Creates, updates, and maintains course and class data. Collects, analyzes, researchs, prepares, and processes academic records and documents. Performs course registration and scheduling, class changes and additions, maintenance of student records, and degree audits. Collaborates across University to ensure accuracy of information and academic records data integrity. Creates reports for internal and external audiences.

Provides mentorship and guidance to team. Infrequently has a limited number of direct reports.

Physical Requirements

This role is primarily desk-based and involves extensive use of desktop computers. Occasionally, the job may require travel to attend meetings and programs.



Minimum Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5 or more years of related professional experience, or equivalent education and experience.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least five years of work experience in University Registrar office, student services office, or related higher education experience which could include working with vendors or organizations who provide services to higher education, or other related jobs that connect with higher education institutions or college students, strongly preferred.
  • Experience with the following: PeopleSoft, Astra Schedule, reporting and/or data visualization tools; working at a comprehensive four-year public research university.

Pay Rate

Target hiring range for this role is $44,592 – $59,085. The final offer will be commensurate with the candidate’s education and experience in relation to the minimum qualifications for the position, while also considering internal equity.
