Ohio Wesleyan University ( is a selective, private, undergraduate liberal arts residential institution founded in 1842 and located just 20 miles north of Columbus.

The University's Department of Public Safety invites applications for a Full-Time Public Safety Officer. This is a 40-hour-per-week position with opportunities for overtime and special event pay.

The Job

As a non-sworn Public Safety Officer, you will be part of a small team with significant responsibilities, including taking action when unsafe behaviors are observed and responding to emergency situations. We rely on our officers to handle calls across campus, deter crime, and build meaningful relationships within the university community. Success in this role requires making community members feel safe, supported, and treated with respect.

The position pays $20.00 per hour and offers a $1.50 per hour shift differential for third-shift work. This role may appeal to individuals who prefer non-traditional work schedules. Most shifts involve evening or overnight hours and may include weekends.

Candidates must be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid Ohio driver's license, and be able to pass a background investigation.
