Position Description: Construction Estimator:The Estimator will support IAP Design Build LLC Estimating Team by utilizing their knowledge and expertise gathered from working in the industry, along with reviewing construction plans and documents, to estimate expenditures and develop a construction budget.
The Estimator will report directly to the Chief Estimator.

Position Responsibilities: \tWork project budgets and plans for projects and calculating the total cost of the project.
\tPrepare bids and cost estimates that address every part of a project.
\tAnalyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, material, and labor estimate.
\t Help identify and develop scopes of work for each subcontractor.
\tCommunicate with IAP Design Build LLC subcontractors and vendors to obtain bids.
\tComplete analysis of subcontractor quotes per the construction documents and the established scopes of work.
\tTrack historical data from past project for conceptual estimating.
\tEnsure accuracy of all cost estimates submitted by a contractor.
\tGenerate a complete scope of general conditions as need for a project.
\tProvide estimation of labor, material and equipment needed for a project.
\tRe-figure cost estimates when necessary for addendums and or changes.
\tReview IAP Design Build LLC general conditions and estimates with Chief Estimator.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Estimator Preferred Skills and Qualifications - \tBachelors degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or PE. (Preferred but not required)
\tMinimum 5- years experience in the construction estimating processes.
\tExperience working in the construction industry.
experience in conceptual and hard bid estimating.
\tMust have strong math and science skills.
\tMust be detail oriented.
\tExcellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
\tKnowledge of how to read and comprehend blueprints.
\tKnowledge of the complex workings of plumbing, electrical, ventilation, heating and air conditioning systems.
\tExcellent written and verbal communication skills.
\tMust be able to work effectively as a member of a team.
\tMust be familiar Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel and Power point.
\tExperience in using On-center software or other estimating software for take offs.
\tExperience in using Quick Bid software for estimating a plus.
\tKnowledge of how to use file transfer programs to send large drawing files to contractors.
\tKnowledge of how to use complex project management software and construction scheduling software such as Excel, Sure Track, OST, SAGE, Timberline, STACK, Pro EST, and FreshBooks.
\tPrior work experience with a Construction Management, General Contractor, Architectural or Engineering firm. Preferred but not required.
