Java Backend Services Developer
Onsite in Cincinnati, OH
Our client is a large U.S. financial institution headquartered in Cincinnati with a significant branch and ATM footprint across multiple states. The organization is a Fortune 500 company and one of the largest banks in the United States. Its history traces to an early twentieth-century merger of regional banks.

Rate: $78.00 to $88.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement new features while improving the quality of technical products and applications.
- Serve as a hands-on developer on an agile squad and participate in agile ceremonies.
- Collaborate with software engineers to define system architectures and design solutions.
- Develop software that meets code quality standards and metrics.
- Practice test-driven development to ensure reliability and maintainability.
- Contribute to communities of practice, follow standards, review code, and share knowledge.
- Automate processes and write maintainable, supportable, and testable code to achieve operational excellence.
- Partner with operations and engineering teams to drive service improvements.
- Stay current on IT trends relevant to the practice area.
- Assist with problem resolution for end users and customers.
- Contribute to defining operational procedures for software development.
- Maintain controls and documentation to ensure compliance with audit requirements.
- 1 to 2 years of experience working in agile or scrum teams.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in microservice-oriented back-end architecture and development.
- 3+ years of experience with Java Spring and Spring Boot.
- 3+ years of experience with Java, including Java 17 or higher.
- Prior experience with Git, GitHub, Jenkins, and JFrog.
- Experience with containerization and building Docker images.
- Understanding of software development methodologies and security best practices.
- Strong problem solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Experience with RAG patterns, vector databases, or embeddings (preferred).
- Familiarity with model safety evaluations or responsible AI frameworks (preferred).
- Prior work building prototypes of proof-of-concept AI tools (preferred).
- Understanding of secure coding principles and adversarial AI risks (preferred).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or comparable field with relevant IT experience.

The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range. W2 employees of Eliassen Group who are regularly scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week are eligible for the following benefits: medical (choice of 3 plans), dental, vision, pre-tax accounts, other voluntary benefits including life and disability insurance, 401(k) with match, and sick time if required by law in the worked-in state/locality.
