Job Summary
The Engineering Technical Specialist will provide hands-on technical support and expertise in the Carbon Monoxide (CO) distillation process. This role is vital to maintaining safe, efficient, and compliant operations for the production and purification of Carbon Monoxide—a key component in various chemical manufacturing processes. The position requires a strong combination of engineering knowledge, process optimization skills, and practical experience in distillation systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the Carbon Monoxide distillation process, ensuring compliance with operational protocols and safety standards.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on distillation equipment, including reactors, condensers, and separation units.
- Develop, implement, and manage preventive maintenance, calibration, and asset management programs specific to CO distillation systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, quality, and safety) to drive process improvements and optimize production efficiency.
- Ensure strict adherence to ISO, cGMP, and company-specific safety and quality regulations.
- Accurately document procedures, maintenance logs, calibration records, and other compliance-related documentation to maintain a robust Quality Management System (QMS).
- Provide technical training and guidance to junior engineers, operators, and maintenance personnel related to CO distillation and equipment handling.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with chemical or gas distillation processes, preferably involving Carbon Monoxide or similar hazardous materials.
- Strong understanding of process control systems, maintenance practices, and safety standards in a chemical plant or industrial setting.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex equipment and process issues under pressure.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across interdisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks such as ISO, cGMP, and OSHA.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Knowledge of automated control systems (PLC/SCADA) used in distillation processes.
- Prior experience in hazardous gas production or handling environments.
Certifications
- Certification in Process Safety Management (PSM), Hazardous Waste Operations (HAZWOPER), or related industrial safety certifications is a plus, but not required.
