Engineering Technician

Position Overview

The Engineering Technician supports the design, development, and documentation of mechanical systems and industrial equipment. This role focuses on creating detailed drawings, models, and layouts for manufacturing and plant environments, with an emphasis on pumps, piping systems, and process equipment. The position works closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are accurate, production-ready, and aligned with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Designs and develops mechanical systems, components, and equipment with a focus on functionality, durability, and cost efficiency.
• Creates 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using AutoCAD and Inventor.
• Develops and edits P&IDs and plant layouts using Plant3D for industrial and chemical plant environments.
• Supports product development efforts by collaborating with cross-functional teams from concept through production.
• Prepares and maintains technical documentation including drawings, specifications, bills of material, and assembly instructions.
• Produces and updates civil and utility layouts for plant and facility projects.
• Works closely with manufacturing teams to optimize designs for quality, cost, and production efficiency.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in engineering, drafting, or a related technical field, or progress toward an engineering degree.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in 2D and 3D drafting, including machine drawings, civil layouts, and P&IDs.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Inventor for modeling, assemblies, P&IDs, and technical drawings.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals, materials, and manufacturing methods.
• Knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication techniques.
