Traveling CNC Swiss Lathe Programmer
Position Title: CNC Swiss Lathe Programmer (Travel Required)

Travel: Frequent/Extended travel to customer sites, manufacturing facilities, or company locations
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Swiss Lathe Programmer with the flexibility and expertise to travel to multiple sites as needed. This role involves programming, setup optimization, process troubleshooting, and operator support for Swiss-style CNC machinery. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and thrives in dynamic, hands-on environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Program CNC Swiss machines (e.g., Star, Citizen, Tsugami) using CAM software and G/M-code.
- Travel to various customer or internal manufacturing locations to support production needs.
- Perform machine setups, first-article inspections, and process validations.
- Diagnose and resolve machining, tooling, and dimensional issues on-site.
- Optimize cycle times, tooling paths, and machining strategies.
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and leadership to improve manufacturing processes.
- Train machine operators and production teams on best practices.
- Document programs, setup sheets, tooling lists, and process notes.
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in accordance with safety policies.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of hands-on CNC Swiss lathe programming experience.
- Proficiency with Swiss-style machines (Citizen, Star, Tsugami, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of G-code/M-code and CAM software (Esprit, PartMaker, Mastercam, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.
- Experience performing setups, offsets, tooling changes, and part inspections.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in remote locations.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently (up to 75%+ depending on business needs).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in medical device, aerospace, or precision manufacturing industries.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or FDA-regulated environments.
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work on/around machinery.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs as needed.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing or machine-shop environment.
